So, is our story , where a young man called Ah Ming loves a young woman called Ah Shui in a remote, old and water - scarce village of West Hunan in China. As the girl's father was accused by somehow being responsible for the death of her lover's father, the story turns to be dramatically romantic. The lover never reaches , as the road is endless. This is of course the tragic end of such a love as all the great romance stories , whether, in life or in movies.
