I. Carlo Fuscagni, President of the Jury, Producer and
President of CineCittà, Italy.
Carlo Fuscagni was born in Castillo, Italy, in 1933 and
joined RAI in Rome 1960. An accredited journalist and
veteran film buff, Fuscagni has been president of Italy’s
CineCittà Holding since May 2004. Cinecitta is the parent
company of state film production and distribution arm
Istituto Luce and a partner in the recently established
Audiovisual Industry Promotion (AIP), which operates
Milan's Mifed market. Fuscagni also recently launched the
new Festival di Palazzo Venezia, which is held in Rome and
dedicated to international art-theme documentaries and
feature films.
Among his previous positions, Fuscagni has been president
of the student union organization in Rome, editor-in-chief
of “Drama”, a monthly theatre guide and an advisor to
Italy’s experimental film school, one of the country’s
leading seats of learning.
He led joint productions for more then 100 films,
including the last four films for Federico Fellini, La
Voce Della Luna, (The Voice of the Moon), Ginger e
Fred, Intervista and E la Nave Va (And the Ship
Sails) in addition to other esteemed names such as: Olmi,
Avatti, Scola, Moretti. |

II. Can Togay, Writer, Actor, Director, Hungary.
Graduated from the Budapest University, having majored in
English and German, and later went to study at the
Sorbonne in Paris. He received his diploma in 1984 as a
director. He was a member of Studio Béla Bal?zs. He
directed his first film, entitled "The Holiday-Maker", in
1991. His partners have included Isabelle Huppert and
Hanna Schygulla. Togay has won many awards during his
career including; Jury Special Prize at Sochi in 2000 and
Best Film, Hungarian Film Festival 2000. His films have
been selected for the Cannes Festival, Sundance Festival
Workshops and other major festivals.

III. Mohamad Al Ahmad, Film Critic, Writer and
Historian, Syria.
Born in Damascus, Syria he attended University there and
studied English literature. He received the MS in the
methodology of teaching the English language and the
principals of Dramatic Criticism from the University of
Bangor in the UK. He been a professor of English and has
worked in the National Film Organization of the Syrian
Ministry of Culture.
Al Ahmad is considered one of the most influential critics
in Arabic cinema. For the last four years he has been Head
of the Executive Board of the National Film Organization
and Director of the Damascus International Film Festival. |

IV. Katerina Didaskalou, Actress, Greece
Katerina Didaskalou has had extensive acting experience on
the stage, in film and in television. After attending the
Drama School of the National Theatre in Athens, she
studied acting in New York with Uta Hagen at HB Studios
and Milos Forman at Columbia University. She has worked
on the stage in the US and Greece and has experience in
the entire range of drama from Euripides to Agatha
Christie. Her most recent film role was as Arsinoé in Eric
Rohmer’s "Triple Agent" and she is currently filming "Csudafilm",
which is scheduled for release in 2005.

V. Poussy (Serfinaz Mustafa Quaderry) Actress, Egypt
Poussy began her acting career in early childhood in a
famous children’s series called Dondy and Louza in Egypt.
When she was seven, she starred in the film Oudry Ya
Omy (Mother, Come Back) and proceeded rapidly from
there. She has worked with all the major Egyptian
directors and has made a total of 77 films in a variety of
genres. A versatile actress, she has done many theatre
productions and has also been involved in production in
the Egyptian Cinema Industry. She is active in several
human and women’s organizations and is the recipient of
numerous awards, not only for acting but also for her
strong involvement in social issues as well. Poussy has
been married to Nour El-Sherif, the
famous Egyptian actor since 1972, and is the mother of two
daughters Sarah and Mai.

VI. Nader Galal, Director, Producer,
Scriptwriter, Egypt
Nader Galal is the son of renowned
writer/director Ahmed Galal, founder of the Galal Studio
and actress/producer Marie Queenie. Born in Cairo in
1941, he graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema at
23. His first scene appearance was in Rabbab as an
eight-month-old baby, which was directed by his and
starred his mother. Galal went on to play a number of
child roles in films produced by his mother. He has
co-directed around 35 films with great director such as
Youssef Chanine, Salah Abu Seif and Tawfik Saleh. His film
debut as a full director came in 1972 with Laden Yaoud
Al Hob (Tomorrow Love Returns). In all he has
directed over 50 films including Gonoun Al-Hob
(Love’s Madness) 1977, Al-Wad Mahrous Beta Al-Wazir
(Mahrous, the Minister's Boy), 1999 and Ressala Ila Al-Wali
(Message to the Vali), 1999, Hello America, 2000 and Hell
Underground 2001. |

VII. Gérard Corbiau, Director, Writer, Belgian
Born in Brussels in 1941, Gerard Corbiau's career began in
1968 with as a documentaries for RTBF (Belgian TV) where
he directed more than 50 films. In
2002, he became President of honor of the "Festival
International du Film Francophone de Namur" (International
Francophone Film Festival of Namur).
And was awarded "Officier de l'Ordre
des Arts et des Lettres" by Catherine Tasca, French
minister of Culture and Communication in 2001.
He is currently has two projects in post production:
Don Miguel de Manara and L’abyssin, based on
the Novel by Jean-Christophe Rufin.

VIII. Karen Shakhnazarov, Director,
Producer, Scriptwriter, Russia
Karen Shakhnazarov received the People’s
Artist Award of the Russian Federation in 2002, the State
Award of the Russian Federation, Lenin Komsomol Award in
1986, Vasiliev Brothers State Award of RSFSR in 1988, and
is a Member of the European Film Academy.
In 1975 he graduated from the Film
Directing Department of Moscow State Institute of
Cinematography (VGIK, studio of I. Talankin). Since 1976
he has been a film director of the Mosfilm Studios. From
1991 to the present time, Karen Shakhnazarov is the
Chairman of the “Courier” Studio at Mosfilm Cinema Concern
and was appointed General Director and Chairman of Mosfilm
Cinema Concern in 1998.
Karen Shakhnazarov is one of the leading
Russian filmmakers. As a film director, he has a true
sense of modernity and the ability to mark the most
significant points in the movie as well as the power to
entertain the spectator and both make him think and
empathise. Karen Shakhnazarov’s films are well known to
both Russian and foreign spectators, and they have
received the prizes at world’s most prestigious film
festivals and forums.

IX. Emma de Caunes
Born on September 9th 1976,Emma is the daughter of TV
presenter-turned-actor, Antoine De Caunes. Her mother, a
little less recognised by the general public, is the
director and talented graphic artist, Gaelle Royer.
Emma was offered her first role in the Film Margot et
les Voleurs D’enfant, at the young age of 10. She has
appeared in numerous other films since, in addition to her
participation in theatre
She has also displayed considerable talent behind the
camera, as her directorial debut with Nombril de
L’univers, a short film shot in 1999 shows. Her
successful directorial experience drew her back in 2002 to
direct the feature film “Pub Morgan”.
