An
international certificate
In
all the world there are 3500 film festival, 56 of which are
acknowledged by the International Association of Producers and these
festivals are further divided to 4 categories:
the first category includes festivals with an international
competition, the second includes festivals without an international
competition. The third
category is for festivals specialized in a certain type of films
such as comedy or romance and the fourth category is for short and
documentary films.
The
festivals that include an international competition are 11 and the
Cairo International Film Festival was the last festival to obtain
the international acknowledgement of the International Association
of Producers making it the only acknowledged international festival
with awards and an international competition in Africa, the Middle
East and the Arab world. There
is only one festival in South America and six in Europe including
“Cannes”, “Berlin” and “Venice”.
