        Born in Kuala Tungkal, Sumarra on December 25^th, 1956, Christine has been involved in the film world, as an actress and producer, for almost 30 years.

        Teguh Karva was the first to introduce her via his film Cinta Pertama (First Love), for which she won the Citra Award for best actress in 1974.

        She received four Best Actress awards at the Asia Pacific International Film Festival for her performance in Kawin Lari (Elopement). With Daun Di Atas Bantal (Leaf On A Pillow), she received two awards for Best Actress at the 1998 Asia Pacific International Film Festival, held in Taipei and at the 1999 Cinemanila International Film Festival, held in Manila, in the Philippines.

        She has served as a Jury Member at the 1985 Shanghai Film Festival, the 1999 Hawaii Film Festival, the 1994 Asia Pacific Film Festival in Sydney, Australia, and was also selected as a Jury member of the 55^th Cannes Film Festival in 2002.       

        The Indonesian government granted her an Art Award in 1990, while the French government gave her the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in 1997.

        She was also a speaker at film symposiums at the Kanagawa Film Festival in Japan, and Hawaii Film Festival in 1991.
